Gackt is an entire multimedia franchise in himself. While most people know him best for his solo career his reach has spanned much further then that. He has written books, acted in movies and television series, performed and produced music and endorsed what sometimes seems as every product known to man. The man is inescapable.

Gackt climbed on scene in the mid-nineties as the new front man of Malice Mizer. During his reign as vocalist they climbed to unforeseeable popularity in the Visual Kei genre. It was with them that he made his first film, a silent creative outlet that let them express their artistic essence in a different light.

Having tasted success Gackt moved on to a solo career with timing that couldn't have been better for him. Shifts in tastes were happening and the music he began to create on his own fell right in line with them. His first single 'Mizerable', released on may 12, 1999, was a breath of fresh air and gave him immediate following.

Since then Gackt has been running his career in many different directions, carefully nurturing it at every move. The result has been the creation of a musically mastermind, featured nearly everywhere you look. But his career isn't just about him. Gackt takes great care in his fans giving them back as much as he possibly can in return for their support over the years. The brilliance of his devotion back to them is an even stronger bond that keeps them and him both in the limelight.
