Naraku
The all hated, despised demon that it seems everyone has been tricked by. Born of the bandit Onigumo when he allowed demons to feast on his body to make him a demon in return. Besides using everyone for his own morbid amusement Naraku is set on finding and collecting the entire sacred jewel to use for his own evil ends.
Besides having plenty of minions and an abundance of power he can make a seemingly limitless amount of incarnations of himself. The incarnations are usually now what he favors to send after Inu-yasha and friends as he doesn't like to put himself in harms way very often if he can avoid it.
Although Naraku has made many enemies and nearly everyone in the show is after him his is clever enough to outwit them all time and time again so as to live to see another day. While sooner or later his luck has to run out he doesn't seem to concerned with such thoughts.
