  • ICKYWMB - Stands for I Can Kill You With My Brain, a nasty, but empty, threat. Villains love giving these out.
  • In Character (or IC for short) - In Character means that a canon character in a fanfiction is acting and speaking just like they would in the canon. Needless to say, few fanfiction authors have the skill and knowledge of the canon to pull this one off very often, though some don't even appear to be trying.
  • Introduction - A literary term, the Introduction is the very important beginning of a story. The Introduction is similar to a Prologue , but it gives out a bit more detail, and introduces us to most, if not all, of the major characters, mainly the heros. Villains are usually reserved for later. In a full length novel, the Introduction can run for three or four chapters. In a short story or novella, it is usually only one chapter long. Take care, because if your Introduction isn't done right, it can ruin your entire story and run your readers off before they really give it a chance.
