  • Uber - A story involving characters who resemble, either mentally or physically, the canon characters. They can also be a Alternate Reality fic with the actual canon characters, or a fic with the characters reincarnated into modern day lives.
  • Uberauthor - A fanfiction author who's work is well known and well liked.
  • Unconventional Couple (or UC for short (A. K. A. Alternate Pairing)) - A pairing that is not even hinted at in the canon.
  • Unresolved Sexual Tension (or UST for short) - Sexual tension between two canon characters that cannot or has not been resolved for whatever reason.
  • Urple - A sickening mix of pink and purple, usually used to mock Mary Sues , as they are rather fond of dressing in such colors. It can also be used in Purple Prose , taking the place of the "Purple" to be even more of an insult.
