  • Vanilla - An unimaginative, unoriginal, hopelessly boring, Sexfic.
  • -verse - A suffix added to the end of a canon title to describe the canon's universe. The Potterverse, for Harry Potter, is the most common example. If the name of the canon is more than two syllables long, then the fans may shorten it to make it sound better.
  • Vignette - A Vignette is a short One-Shot fic, closely related to a Missing Scene , whose purpose is to help explain and clarify something bigger. Very short, but more developed than Drabble.
  • Virtual Season (A. K. A. Season N) - A interesting type of fanfiction that appears when writers get together to continue their favorite TV series after it has ended. They compile several original fanfictions, enough to make up an entire TV season. A variation of the Expanded Universe , and a close, close relative of a Continuation . The advantage to doing these is you seldom have to worry about being Jossed.
