Go-Moku!
For those who do not know Go-Moku is an old Japanese game not too unlike our tic-tac-toe or connect four.
How to Play
How to play:
There are a few different varriations of this game but for our purposes here we are playing the Free-Style Go-Moku. Other versions have extra rules to follow and can restrict what it takes to win even further. So for the sake of simplicity we are using this version.
Normally Go-Moku is played on a go board which has 19x19 intersections and uses go peices which are black and white stones. However this game may also be played using paper and pencil since peices are not moved or rearranged in any manner after they have been placed.
Black always goes first. The players then take turns putting their peices down one by one trying to block the other from getting five pieces in a row. The row of five can be either run horizontally, vertically, or diagonally BUT you have to have five of your colour in an unbroken line in order to win.
