How to Spot Bootleg/Pirated Clothes

First thing I want to clear up is that you should not confuse Cosplay clothing with bootlegged clothes nor should you place them in the same catagory. Cosplay clothes are more along the lines of personal costumes and are not generally mass-produced so that is not what is ment when pirated clothing is mentioned. Here we are talking about the unlicensed clothes being sold and often passed off as legit merchandise. The cloths being talked about in here may be found in comic book shops, Anime specialty stores, other small stores and plenty of online shops. In some cases they do not even realize that they are selling unlicensed products.

The style and quality of these clothes crosses a very wide range. There is a quick way to spot most unlicensed clothing you come across thankfully. Check for the copyright either on the front of the clothes normally towards the bottom of a picture or on the label. If you see no copyright/licensing information on the clothing then you have a unlicensed product. Legit companies who have the license NEVER forget to include this information. Again this is the best way to check due to the fact that anymore the fake products are just as good as the real ones.
