How to Spot Bootleg/Pirated Plastic Toys - Action Figures, Plastic Kits, etc...
First thing to look at, as always, is the copyright info. Is it there? If not then yet again you have a bootleg. This info should be on the model somewhere, normally it is located on the underside. The problem with that location is that it does you no good until the item is actually out of its package.
Now if you have a chance to see the figure out of the box then look at the figure itself. Look at how it was made and its quality. Are the seems from the molding to large? Are the details wrong or is the item not painted well? If the item looks sub par then it may not be official, especially if the details are wrong. What happens is a lot of these companies will get a hold of the real figure and use it to make the mold for their own. This creates a product that is always a slightly lower quality then the original.
