Once upon a time these used to be pretty easy to spot the fakes, not so much true anymore. The quality has improved so much that the majority of them are just as nice looking as any official product and just as cool to look at. There are still some bootleg companies that have poor and faded colouration on these items but for the most part they are getting better and better.

Since you can not go on quality anymore its important to know where to look for the copyright and license info. These will always be found at the bottom of the poster or wallscroll. Just look at any official one and you will see right in plain sight where this info is supposed to be. If you do not see this info then it is not a legal product. In fact most of the time, on the pirated versions, you will see little more on these besides the logo of a show or name of a character or person. So copyright info is an important key.
