Dante
Born of a union between Sparda and a human woman, Dante lives the life of a mercenary for hire. But behind the scenes, he slays demons and other such nasties from the Underworld, keeping the human world safe as his father once did, though he does not do so because he loves it. Twenty years previous, his mother and brother had been abducted and murdered by denizens of the Underworld, setting Dante on the path of vengeance. He knows that, sooner or later, he will run across the one's responsible for his family's death, and they will then pay the price.
In battle, Dante prefers to use a sword, as well as his twin guns, Ebony and Ivory. During the course of the game, he will also acquire other guns and swords, which make his job, and yours, much easier. In the Underworld, power is equal to the pain you give or the pain you receive, but Dante is not capable of unlocking his power on his own. Once he acquires the Devil Arms, demonic weapons with mind and sentience of their own, he will store power as he either gives are takes damage. Only then will he will be able to unlock his inner demon, allowing him to Devil Trigger. When in Devil Trigger mode, Dante's attack power doubles, and he gains a plethora of new moves and actions for a short time before he human side forces him to revert back to normal.
