Nelo Angelo
A dark knight that challenges Dante in the courtyard and on the battlements of the castle on Mallet Island, Nelo Angelo is an enigma, wrapped up in mystery. Nothing is known about this knight, and it's strange that he prefers to fight Dante in an honest and fair fight, unlike the dirty tactics of the Phantom and Griffin.
In battle, Nelo Angelo swings a massive sword that is larger than he is. If Dante remains out of sword's reach, he will fire balls of blue energy until Dante moves in closer. In later battles, he is also capable of summoning spectral swords that surround him and fire out to hone in and attack Dante. Strangely enough, his sword technique is eerily similar to Dante's, though it is unknown whether this is a coincidence or something more sinister.
