Phantom
An enormous spider composed of molten and hardened lava, Phantom is one of the devil generals sent by Mundus to Mallet Island to help prepare the gate for his arrival. Arrogant and assured of his own power, Phantom is clearing used to being on the winning side. When he first meets Dante, he comments on how Dante is "another small one" and " a disappointing catch." He ignores his senses that tell him that Dante is something "a little bigger". Despite his strength and power, Phantom is still something of a coward, and he flees whenever he starts to lose a battle.
In battle, Phantom uses an array of fire based attacks. He can fire enormous fireballs from his mouth, fire fireballs from his back that rain down on Dante and follow him around, and he can also summon the souls of the dead, which appear as columns of fire that erupt from the floor. If Dante is close to him, he will try to hit Dante with his front pincers and impale him on his long stinger.
