Banon
The leader of the Returners, Banon leads the fight against the Empire. He is searching for some way, anyway to defeat Gestahl and Kefka and prevent the War of the Magi from happening again.
Banon's motives are unclear, as the game tells you nothing of his history. He sees Terra as the means necessary to achieve his goals, and his treatment of her varies as a result. Sometimes, he seems to genuinely care about her and her feelings. Other times, he treats her as if she were a tool to achieve his goals. After the game's midpoint, Banon vanishes, never to be seen again.
Only once does Banon join the party in battle. His physical attacks are weak, but his ability to heal the entire party, without spending any Magic Points is a nice ability.
