Cyan Garamonde
A faithful retainer and swordsman of Doma Castle, Cyan is thrown together with the party with the death of his wife and son. Overcome with shock, grief, and rage, he charges into the nearby imperial camp and challenges the soldiers there single handedly. After Sabin and Shadow lend him a hand the three escape together.
Cyan is a kind and honorable man whose life revolves around his family and his liege. When that is stripped away from him, his world collapses, and he seems unable to pull himself out of the despair that he falls into. He follows the party out of a sense of revenge and a desire to see justice done to the Empire, especially Kefka, for their crimes.
In a fight, Cyan uses his considerable sword skill to his fullest advantage. He has up to eight available sword techniques to choose from with a wide variety of effects that range from simply causing damage to actually cutting an opponent in half.
