Kefka
Kefka is quite possibly the biggest lunatic in the Final Fantasy Series. One of the first people, other than Terra and Celes, that can use magic, he is a general in the Empire's service and Emperor Gestahl's right hand man. He is responsible for the slave crown on Terra's head, the systematic murder of the people of Doma, and many other atrocities. Add that to his sanity being very much in question, and his annoyingly insane cackle, and you have a perfect recipe for a good villain. He is famous for his "self help booklet" line.
Kefka is greedy and thirsty for power, and will let nothing or no one stand in his way. He is perfectly willing to sacrifice an entire town to get to the frozen Esper, and he thinks nothing is as lovely as the sound of hundreds of voices screaming in unison. He is arrogant and conceited, and he thinks that his lowers exist to do his bidding. In the second half of the game, he gets offended if someone even so much as has negative thoughts about him.
When you first meet Kefka in battle, he will run as soon as you land a hit on him. In subsequent battles, he uses magic as his primary weapon, with the occasional slash or physical hit aimed at you. Later, he drops the physical hits altogether in favor of very powerful magic.
